Tom’s hobby raises valuable funds

A couple of years ago, after moving to Ludlow to live on Whitcliffe, Tom Crowther returned to an early life love – working on a lathe with wood.
He came up with the idea of using wood from the common to fashion all kinds of articles – and offered to make them to raise funds for the Friends of Whitcliffe Common, of which he is a member. The timber is usually from limbs that have fallen or which are felled to keep paths safe.
His creations have proved immensely popular. Shown here are examples of what he can produce – but there are so many more.
