This vole was captured by volunteer, Harvey Griffiths as he took a break from strimming near Dinham Bridge. It emerged from a hole literally under his boot. As ever he had his camera to hand.

And Harvey also spotted this orchid on the common while working recently. It is one of several which have appeared since the common was seeded with hay bales from an ancient meadow last year.
