Denis Nash honoured for 50 years service to the Common

denis nashDenis Nash, Vice President of Friends of Whitcliffe Common, has been honoured by the  Common’s Trustees for his 50 years service to the Common.

A plaque in his name has been added to the Dinham seat already with dedications to Alan Poulton M.B.E. – Chairman 1988 — 2010 and James McFarlane C.B.E.   a dedicated long term supporter.

Denis, through his early years of Whitcliffe volunteering struggled, with a few others, to keep down bramble growth, cut back evasive foliage and keep clear the paths for walking.

A builder and stonemason by trade, his permanent work can be seen at the toposcope and the ancient wall at Ludford steps which he restored.

Denis remains a Trustee, is still volunteering and enjoying Whitcliffe.
